our puppies
A few things you should know when you purchase a puppy from us is, you are apart of our family and will always be here to offer any advice or ask any questions you may have. A true lifelong support system!
*We feed Nutrisource Large Breed Puppy food. When they are with us, they have an endless bowl of fresh food and clean water 24/7. Once they leave and go into your home, we recommend changing that to 2-3x daily. We always suggest to not feed or offer water after 7pm during the house training phase as it helps to minimize accidents throughout the night.
*We HIGHLY recommend crate training. It is imperative to not only keep your pup safe when you can’t watch them, but to also keep your household/personal stuff safe too. Puppies are very curious and will chew, bite and eat things they don’t necessarily understand its “bad” for them. During the crate training phase, its important for the pup to understand the crate is not used for punishment. I always like to advise putting a blanket over the whole crate, only leaving the door exposed, and open. This will encourage them to go in, explore and sleep. You can also place special toys in there, encouraging them to go in on their on leisure. During the periods that the pup is in the crate and you leave, shut the cage and allow the blanket then to cover the crate entirely. The crate is their “DEN”. It doesn’t hurt to play a sound machine, or TV, or music as well. Puppies, especially Great Danes, absolutely love their humans and want nothing more to be by them 24-7.
*We recommend when you start leash training, under your supervision, hook the leash to their collar and allow the leash to drag on the floor as your pup walks and runs around. This allows the pup to start to be desensitized to something being hooked to their collar, and giving it the pulling sensation.
*We don’t recommend taking your new puppy to any dog parks, pet stores, etc… The puppy still needs many vaccines to be fully protected against many diseases that are very common in those places. Your pup will need three to four rounds of puppy series vaccines, along with a bordetella vaccine (kennel cough), and a rabies (@ 6 months old). We fully de-worm the puppies prior to them leaving but is imperative you always take a stool sample into your vet per each visit. They will have a negative fecal result upon them leaving.
